A lifelong resident of Lancaster County, Mal Ransone grew up in Kilmarnock, Virginia, where he began to learn the value hard work at an early age. From being a town paper boy, to bagging groceries at the local Safeway, Mal became known as a hardworking individual throughout the community. His work ethic led him to study at Virginia Tech after high school, and he graduated in 1976 with a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Development. After graduating, Mal moved back home and began a lawn mowing business with 2 friends. The next year, in 1977, Ransone’s Nursery & Maintenance was incorporated and the rest is history. Now with a fleet of hauling vehicles, and multiple crews providing landscaping needs of all kinds, Mal’s eagerness to help people of his community and to grow his company led to the phrase that became one of our mottos: “Ransone’s. We do it all!”
